Wow
I love Morgan Freeman.
Nevermind that he is a great actor, but he is also a really cool guy. He has spent a lot of time in Grenada; he used to keep his boat at the Moorings Secret Harbour docks, and there were rumours at one time that he was buying land here.
I met him once. He was tall, surprisingly cute for an "old man" and very pleasant. In fact he had me all tittering from a complement he gave me.... long story for another time. But all in all, well known on the island to be a good fella. After Ivan I wondered about whether his boat had been here during the hurricane; however industry rumours indicated he had taken it to Trinidad and he had been sighted playing dominoes at a yachtie pub down there. Oh BTW, he drinks Carib.... hah!
Then today I came across
this, specifically the part that says:
He is now turning his sights to the culinary world with a book about the
traditional dishes of the Caribbean. The book is being compiled to raise money
for hurricane victims on the island of Grenada.
*sigh* Did I tell you that I love Morgan Freeman? Whatta guy!

Whaling
As the
whaling issue pops up in the news again, can someone answer this:
Exactly
WHY is it in the interest of Caribbean islands to
encourage whaling in our waters?
*smacking forehead* Oh right! I forgot we were prostituting our vote out to Japan. For money.
Sorry. Scratch that question. My bad.

The Cheltenham Commission and miscellaneous assorteds
The
Cheltenham Commission of Inquiry into our
Briefcase Scandal has begun. For some real jokes, and to hear senior public officials squirm (yes you can actually HEAR them squirm) take a listen to the
GBN Radio Stream.
Frankly, it is far more humorous to see this spectacle on TV. Dr Cheltenham is taking
no prisoners... he came out both guns blazing. You can't get to see much of his facial expression as the camera angle is showing the right side of his face, but you can just
see his jaw clenching furiously in disbelief while gets bombarded with the asinine "I dunno / Not me!" shoulder-shrugging that's going on. It is truly surprising that our Permanent Secretaries/Senior Government Officials are so ill-prepared for this grilling. Just goes to show that they thought it would be just a simple, easy, Q&A session.

And in case anyone cares, I
still hate
Michael Molester
Jackson. On a lighter note, check out the really funny
The Daily Showverdict report.
Have I mentioned that I also hate Michael Jackson's
Juror #5? Yep... she got her book deal in the making already.

Where are you on the
blogging lifecycle? I think I am at #2; I haven't yet figured out how to read stats yet. But you just wait until I do. Boy! Am I going to bore the
crap out of some people! :)

I do agree that a
regional airline is the way to go LIAT and BWIA. But can we really leave that to the combined hands of our politicians who, after all, still can't make heads or tails of the CSME.
Til next time.

Michael Jackson Verdict
Jackson Won't Share Bed With Kids Again - Yahoo! NewsI can't even summon the energy to write the expletive-filled rant that I have brewing inside me over the asinine and ridiculous
verdict that was given yesterday. Suffice it to say that the fact that they didn't even bring a guilty on the alcohol charges - charges which were a given really - makes you go hmmm...
I hate Michael Jackson. Honestly and seriously I hate him. It's awfully silly, I know, to hate him but I don't care. He's still a sick, crazy paedophile surrounded by equally crazy sycophants.
Grrr...
